Congratualtions to the new Mr. and Mrs!

What a fun weekend! This past weekend, Chris and I snuck away to attend and participate in a dear friends wedding in Hilton Head, Molly Babbit Karry, who married one of the greatest men, Tom Karry.  We took off Thursday afternoon and headed to Savannah, with the Howells, and stayed with our friends, Sarah and Stephen.  It has been a long time since we have had an adult weekend with nothing but friends, no kids and no responsibilities.  Thursday was a night of relaxing, chatting and prepping for the weekend. I am truly blessed to have special girlfriends in my life that I can vent to, laugh with and completely be myself around.  Our lives are busy and most of the times a little chaotic, so getting to spend 3 whole days with my besties was a blast.  On Friday, the girls headed to get nails done, grab lunch and do last minute wedding items that were on the brides to do list. They had planned a beautiful rehearsal dinner, over looking the water, and all of us had a great time chatting and sipping cocktails.  Once the dinner was over, the 4 of us (Molly, Amy, Sarah and myself) had a slumber party together.  One last night of hanging with her girlfriends before walking down the isle is exactly what the bride needed.  Saturday was a fun day of getting our hair done, having an excuse to wear fake eye lashes and drinking mimosas all while hanging with the girls.  The weekend was beautiful and an absolute blast.  The weather cooperated and the rain did not show its ugly face during the ceremony, which was a huge blessing. Seriously, there is something so romantic and intimate about getting married on the beach.  Nothing but the sound of the ocean, the importance of the vows ringing through you, and the love that pours over the bride and groom.  I was so honored to stand next to Molly and be included on her special day.  Molly has been one of those people in my life that has been involved in some shape or form since middle school.  Over the last few years, we have grown our friendship into something beautiful and I am so happy to be able to call Molly my friend.  She has the biggest heart I have ever seen,  a smile that lights up the room and the type of person who would do anything for anyone.  I wish them both nothing but love, happiness and a ton of little feet running around their house soon.  :)

Here are a few pictures from our weekend.  I have tried EVERYTHING to get these pictures to upload correctly and to be able to put comments in the correct locations, but it will not work. Please excuse the odd sizes of pictures and the random comment locations. I am sick of trying to correct them, but did not want to skip this post because of my frustration.

This picture is so special to me.  Amy snapped this while Chris and I were dancing to a song that plays during the video that was made for us of Harlen's birth story.  Chris and I looked at each other when the song came on and new that it was familiar and then it hit us.  We don't know the name of the song, but the meaning/feeling behind the song is so special.

All 6 of us.  The relationship that we have is unbreakable.

We had a great weekend with friends!  We cherish these moments and love being able to get away, thanks to the grandparents help, but also LOVE coming home to our little man.

Already Missing Him!

On Thursday, the hubs and I are sneaking away to Hilton Head for the weekend.  We are going down for a dear friends wedding and couldn't be happier to spend the weekend with my best girlfriends, their husbands and my love for a little adult time and celebrating.  I am so excited to get away but I am also missing my little man already.  The weekends are so much fun with Harlen and missing one with him is such a drag.  I know that he is going to have soooo much fun hanging with his grandparents and i know that we are going to have a memorable weekend as well, but it is still hard.  I hate missing my mornings with him, cuddling with him in bed while he sips his milk and munches on cereal while watching Elmo (an obsession for another post). I hate that we wont get to do fun things with him during the days and then put him to bed and hear him say "love eww mommy, sweet dreams" each night. You would think, by the way i am feeling, that we are going away for a week, but in all reality we will only be gone for three nights.  I can already tell you that the drive home on Sunday will feel like an eternity and i know that Chris and i will be racing into the house to see who can get their arms around him first. Weekend get aways are good for both child and parents but they are oh so hard, especially when you just had an amazing weekend together.

This weekend, we had dinner with Papa, Millie and Uncle Brian over at the grandparents house. We brought his golf set and played in the yard and threw rocks in the pond for a while and enjoyed the nice weather.  We had some BBQ and spent the evening relaxing while Harlen soaked up some time with some of his favorite people.

Saturday did not go as planned.  We had planned to spend the day playing outside and going to a friends sons 1st birthday party but Harlen had something else in mind.  He ended up having an upset stomach so we laid low for the day and sent daddy to deliver the birthday present while we watched movies.  We grilled out and spent the night relaxing in hopes of the upset stomach passing so that we could enjoy the day on Sunday.

Sunday we woke up with a happy little boy who was eager to make up for his Saturday that was spend inside.  I had a bridal luncheon to go to so daddy and Harlen had a boys play date.  They played outside for a while until i got home.  We had a great time playing and got to spend time with the Howells.  Amy and I planned to dye Easter eggs with the boys this weekend because we were gone the following weekend.  We had a blast dying the eggs, playing in the yard and getting to enjoy each others company.  All in all, it was a GREAT weekend and we loved every moment of it.

Harlen snoozing on the way home from daycare on Thursday - nice weather, tons of outdoor time = quick nap on the way home. He never does this, but I enjoyed this sweet view in my rear view mirror.

Playing on the porch and enjoying the Spring weather, Saturday morning.

Snuggle time with Mongo!  Harlen LOVES Mongo and Mongo tolerates Harlen.  Mongo is SO good with Harlen!
Easter Egg time!

I LOVE this picture! Parkers face is adorable and Harlen is so serious.

Boys will be boys!  Parker and Harlen enjoying their play time together.  Climbing, sliding, rock gathering, dirt digging and running is exactly how a Sunday afternoon should be spent.

Runny Nose Weekend

On Thursday, Harlen woke up with an evil cough but seemed fine so i did what any good mom would do and sent him to daycare in hopes that it would pass and he would get over it.  To my surprise, Thursday night he ran a fever and got to spend Friday afternoon with his Millie and Papa.  They did some art, played till his little heart was content and got to take a few walks up and down the driveway exploring the outside.  Millie said that he was fine all day but did not get to take a good nap because the dogs were barking and woke him up.  I think that his fun filled afternoon and little to no nap added up to a fever again on Friday night.  The hubs and i had planned for a quiet evening in with a couple friends stopping by for a visit and Harlen stayed up a little later than he normally would which was another bad decision on my part.  When Harlen is up later than his normal routine, he inevitably wakes up earlier the following morning.  Bright and early on Saturday morning, Harlen woke up and demanded cartoons which he has started watching in mommy and daddy's bed while Chris and i soak up as much down time before Harlen is ready to get down and play.  Harlen and i did some playing and a little laundry until the hubs came down and asked if wanted to take a family field trip to Bass Bro Shop.  We loaded up, even though Harlen was sick and tried to make the most out of the day.  With a few walks around the store, visit to the fish tank (which Harlen LOVED) playing with baseball hats which Harlen thought was the worst idea ever and some great people watching we made it out of there with only one quick melt down because he didn't want to leave.  He is definitely a little boy following in his daddy's foot steps with loving everything about the outdoors.  On the way home, Harlen fell asleep and woke up as soon as we were about to pull in the driveway.  This made for an interesting afternoon because he refused to go back to sleep and we had some friend coming over to play later on.  I do not know why i worry because he is usually a happy little guy with or without a nap but because he was sick, i wanted to make sure he had all the sleep his little body needed.  Oh well, a busy Saturday meant for a low key Sunday and that is what we did.  Laundry and playing while the hubs cleaned out the garage.  Thanks babe!  It looks awesome.

Here are some shots from the week/weekend.  All in all, we had a fun family filled weekend with lots of snotty hugs and kisses.

Below, Harlen is playing in his playroom.  Yes, he is wearing Santa Pj's.  We get our moneys worth around the Wilson house.

When heading to bed on Sunday, i looked over at the monitor and had one of those "wow, i cant believe he is mine moments."  Went to bed next to the man of my dreams while looking at our little blessing.
