Here are a couple photos from the last week. You will notice that I take 99% of my photos from my phone. With that being said, I REALLY need to get a new one. I have been better at snapping pictures because of this blog, but it does me no good if the pictures are awful quality. Oh well, you get the point.
Here are a couple pictures of Harlen doing his FAVORITE thing...... Drumming. The amount of time that he spends on this thing is crazy. It is the first thing he wants to do when we get home from daycare and the loves to do it all weekend long. It is totally cute, but if this is the instrument that he chooses to play later on, I am going to invest in earplugs. Even this tiny little set is loud. It is cute to watch him play his little hear out though.
Daddy and Harlen taking a nap together this weekend. Chris LOVES to take his naps, but how could you not with this little cuddle buddy.
Uncle Brian decided to take Harlen for a ride on his foot while we were all at Papa and Millies house hanging out over the weekend. I remember doing this with my uncle when I was younger. A flood of happy memories came rushing in when I heard the laughs out of Harlen while going for a "ride."
Random picture of me and my littlest buddy, Hudson! He is SO CUTE and I just love him to pieces. Harlen and I had dinner at my parents house on Friday and they watch my sisters kids that night while sister and Derrick are at work. It is always fun to hang with the boys and watch them play together. Soon, little Hudson will be running around with them and getting into trouble just like Harlen and Colton do together. I cant wait!

Happy to Report......
So, as I mentioned in my last post that we were searching for a dime. To recap, Harlen swallowed a dime on the 15th as I was getting him ready to go to his 2yr check up. The docotrs told us to search his poop to look for it (insert yuck face) and if we did not see it then we were to call in and ask what the next step is on Monday. Well, Monday came and the hubs and I did not see anything, so we called and they told us that since he was eating and drinking fine and was not getting sick then we should wait and keep looking for it and call back in on Friday. I was a little late on calling in on Friday and when I called, the phone nurse said that she was going to talk to the doctors and see what we should do. About 15 minutes later, the children's urgent care called me and said that they wanted to take an x-ray of Harlen to make sure that the dime had passed. I immediately got nervous. Not because I thought he was in danger, my gut told me that he was fine, but mainly because I did not want him to be scared. He was about to go into a room with big equipment that he had never seen before (thank GOD) and that would scare any child. I am not sure why I always get nervous because Harlen did GREAT. He did everything that the nurse said to do. I know he was a little hesitant and scared because I could see his little heart beating through his chest. I kept talking to him and telling him that he was ok and that mommy was with him. He just kept saying "picture of my belly" over and over and "dime in my poopy." I was standing over him and kept telling him to look at mommy and we sang our ABC's and Row Row Row You Boat while they took about 5 pictures of him in a bunch of different positions. Once done, he got to pick out a sticker and he wore it proudly. While leaving the urgent care he insisted on stopping at each check in desk to show the nice ladies his badge of honor. They all laughed at him and gave him high fives for being such a good patient. The tech mentioned that I would not get a call from the doctors office with confirmation if the dime was still lodged or not till the morning because the doctors office was closed by the time we finished with his x-rays. We left and went to Papa and Grandmas for pizza and play time with Colton and Hudson. First thing on Saturday morning, we got a call for the doctors office that the xrays did not show any trace of the dime still in his stomach and that we were clear to stop checking his poops. Phew, a week of looking through poopy diapers was not fun, but necessary to make sure our little man was ok. The hubs pulled the "I am going to puke" card if Harlen went #2, so I sucked it up and searched through every diaper except 1. Go Mommy! So glad it is over though and that Harlen got a clean bill of health.

No longer a baby!
Well folks, we officially have a 2 year old!! It is so hard to believe that it was 2 years ago that I got to lay eyes on Harlen for the first time. Baby boy, you have grown into the sweetest, loving little boy I have ever seen.
The birthday week started off with a bang! Grandma took off work to spend the day with her birthday boy and came to the house that morning to pick him up, so that I could go to work (insert supper sad face here). I wanted nothing more than to take the day off to spend with him, but duty called and I had work that needed to be done. That morning, when Grandma and I went to wake Harlen up, his first words out of his mouth were "I'm 2." He knew that Tuesday was "his" day and he was so excited and woke up in the best mood. Harlen and Grandma went back to Grandma and Papas house to have breakfast together and then went to have some pictures taken as a surprise for us. I love the pictures and I LOVE that they were taken on his birthday. Once they were done with pictures, Papa, Grandma, Aunt Cole, Uncle Derrick, Colton and Hudson took Harlen out for Mexican and then to grab a balloon, which we all know is a 2 year old's favorite thing. After heading home for a nap and some play time, Grandma and Papa brought Harlen to Chuck E Cheese to meet up with us. Harlen's other Papa, Millie, Aunt Melanie, Uncle Brian and Christy (Brian's girlfriend) joined in the fun and we spent the evening spoiling Harlen with games, pizza and cupcakes.
Harlen went back to daycare on Wednesday and had a celebration there with all of his daycare friends. I made football cupcakes for them to enjoy (I am not a baker nor a cupcake decorator, but I don't think the 2 and under kids cared what they looked like.)
The last picture is of Harlen and his BFF, Parker, in the bath on Saturday night. The Howells stayed for dinner after the party and the boys enjoyed a little one on one time playing together and getting cleaned up and ready for bed.
On Sunday, we were suppose to have his 2 year pictures and family pictures taken, but our photographer had to reschedule because of a sick child. We will try again this weekend. Pray they go smoothly. Instead of the pictures, we got to relax and play with all the new toys that Harlen got for his birthday. Thank You to everyone that spoiled our sweet boy.
I am starting to introduce arts and crafts into our weekend schedule and this Sunday we were able to try finger painting, thanks to the Howells. Harlen LOVED it. Here are a couple pictures I snapped of him while painting.
We had a fun day of playing and painting! He loved it and so did it. We will be doing this activity again very soon.
On Sunday night, we ventured ITP to visit Aunt Melanie's new place. She had us over for a very nice dinner and gave us a tour of her new place. She is going to love living downtown and we are so proud of her!
Here are a couple pictures of Harlen while at Aunt Melanie's. We brought his crayons and a ton of toys but I think he had more fun having a dance party with Aunt Melanie.
Phew! What a week that was. Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Harlen's 2nd Birthday. I know he enjoyed every single minute of this week and will be talking about it for weeks to come. Love!
Until next time....... we will be searching for a dime :)

Harlen at 2 years old - This was taken on February 11, 2013. Our last family picture with our 1 year old. |
Harlen went back to daycare on Wednesday and had a celebration there with all of his daycare friends. I made football cupcakes for them to enjoy (I am not a baker nor a cupcake decorator, but I don't think the 2 and under kids cared what they looked like.)
Thursday was Valentines Day and he had a great day of celebrating with his daycare friends, making crafts and eating sweets. For dinner, daddy took Harlen and I to Frankie's to celebrate. Harlen obviously had a long day of celebrating already because he was NOT feeling dinner. Since we were just at a restaurant on Tuesday that had games (Chuck E Cheese) he thought that Frankie's should have them as well and all he wanted to do was play and not enjoy the nice family meal that we were at. Needless to say, we made it a quick dinner and got out of there just in time because the melt down started as soon as I opened the restaurant door to leave. Phew!
On Friday, the hubs took the day off of work to hang with Harlen and continue the celebration of his birthday. Harlen decided to start the morning off by swallowing a dime so we are still on the look out for a 10 cent poopy. Gross, but all part of having kids I guess. Thank goodness that Harlen had his 2 year check up that morning. Chris was able to ask them what we needed to do to get him to poop this dime out and so we wait. After his check up, I met the boys for lunch at Chick Fil A and then off to work I went and the boys went home to rest and get ready for the rest of the day. Once Harlen (and Daddy) woke up from a nap, Chris took Harlen for a walk up the Kennesaw Mountain to enjoy the "nice" weather and get out of the house for a while. When they returned from their walk, Papa and Millie arrived, and soon after I got home, and we were off to the Circus. Papa and Millie got Harlen 5 tickets to the Circus for his birthday and we had a BLAST. Papa and Millie spoiled Harlen with treats, a light up elephant and a fun filled night. This was the first circus that I had ever seen and we all loved the show.
Harlen was AWESOME during the show and enjoyed every minute of it. It was a very late night for him and he crashed as soon as his bottom hit the car seat on the way home.
Saturday was another fun day. We got to celebrate Harlen's birthday with all of our close friends and family. The hubs took Harlen for a haircut and then to home depot, while mommy got the house ready for everyone to come over and celebrate. We had a great time celebrating and hanging with everyone who obviously loves our sweet boy. You could tell that Harlen had so much fun playing with his cousins and friends. The look on his face when everyone was singing Happy Birthday to him was priceless. Unfortunately, the majority of the pictures from his party are on the real camera so please excuse the lack of pictures that I am posting. I will post more pictures of the celebration when I am able to upload them from the camera.

My Special Valentine
Happy Valentines Day!!!
Normally I am not someone who gets all excited for Valentines Day or even cares to celebrate it, but as time passes I am starting to really love Valentines Day. I am starting to appreciate it more and more because it is a day where you look at your special someone and say "I Love You" and take the time out of your busy schedule to show them that you care. Yes, people should do this every day, but lets face it.....life gets in the way sometimes. Instead of having an intimate moment with your better half, you find yourself captivated by the TV, or washing dishes, folding clothes, cleaning up toys, packing diaper bags, on the computer and so on. Instead of telling that person that you love them, you are barking at them to help you finish all these tasks so that you can both make it to bed at a decent hour. Instead of kissing that person goodbye in the morning, you are running late and rushing out the door thinking that you will give them a bigger kiss tomorrow to make up for it. I am guilty of all of these things. Guilty because I should be cuddling, kissing, being intimate, doing sweet nothings and showing up with a random token of my love more than I do. I should be taking time out of every single day to just connect with my husband. For that I am sorry and for that exact reason, I now LOVE VALENTINES DAY! I appreciate the day that is dedicated to telling the special person in my life that I LOVE, APPRECIATE, CHERISH, HONOR and ADORE him with every ounce of my being. For the sake of today and all the meaning behind it, please know that I LOVE YOU, CHRIS WILSON. I love what you do to help out our family, I love that you work so hard to provide for us, I love the way that you love our son, I love the way that you look in your jeans :), I love your smile, I love your contagious laugh, I love your infectious personality, I love "most" of your humor and so so so much more. Because of our love, we have an amazing son. Someone that is proof that the love we have is strong and life long. We have had our spats and even some knock down drag out fights but we also love each other tenderly and with full passion. We took a vow, almost 5 years ago, that I cherish and hold very dear. We promised to love each other till death do us part and that is exactly what I am going to do. I love you with my whole heart and am so happy to be able to call you my husband and best friend. Thank you for loving me the way that you do :)

Photo Dump
OK, life has been crazy. This month is full of fun activities for the Wilson clan and I have not had a ton of extra time to put towards updating this blog, like I should. So, for now, please use this photo dump as an update on what we have been up to. Busy, Busy, Busy, but tons of fun!
Publix, I think not. I had to take a picture of the subs because Stephanie is the MASTER Sandwich artist.
On Saturday night, we had a bowling party for Papa's (my dad's) 60th birthday. I will expand on the birthday of the best dad in the world on another post. The celebration continues this weekend so I will do a whole post on it later.
Yesterday was a gorgeous day and we have to take advantage of every nice night that we get so, while I was making dinner, Chris and Harlen played on the screen porch. Watching these two play, laugh, and make memories makes my heart want to burst. (Please excuse the photo quality. I was taking these through the glass cause I did not want to disturb the cuteness that I was witnessing)
We started last Saturday off with getting ready for a play/work date at the Wheelers house. Harlen found a razor (yes, a razor) and decided that it was time to try out this shaving thing. Below is a picture of a cut on his cheek. I swear, I turn my head for a minute and he decides to see what is in the travel bag. Oops!
Ouch! Poor kid.
Play/Work Date at the Wheelers - Dads put down hard wood flooring, while the moms and kids played and got to catch up with each other. A perfect Saturday afternoon, if you ask me.
Look at the Dads working hard!
Harlen loves Grant. I cant wait till this summer. We will have the best time watching the kids play while the parents get to hang out. I can not wait till we get to have cook outs this summer!
On Saturday night, we had a bowling party for Papa's (my dad's) 60th birthday. I will expand on the birthday of the best dad in the world on another post. The celebration continues this weekend so I will do a whole post on it later.
The cutest bowling shoes I have ever seen! Size 7's.
Harlens first bowl of the night and he gets a STRIKE! GO HARLEN!!!!
The moment when you know that your toddler has defeated you is when you take a almost 2 year old bowling and he does not understand that he has to let other people bowl. Staying up past bed time and going bowling on a busy Saturday night is NOT a good idea. Mommy was stressed, tired and ready to call it a night when melt down #5 started. We went to the arcade room to pass the time. Harlen had just as much fun "playing" the games as the obnoxious teenagers were that were actually paying money to play on the games.
Harlen and daddy "painting" the deck. This has to be one of Harlens favorite things to do. He has watched us (well, mostly Chris) work on the back porch for a year now and he likes to help whenever we are out there. SO CUTE!
Getting chased by daddy! The laughter out of him was definitely the sweetest sound a mommy could hear.
This kid can eat, but obviously still has difficulty getting some in his mouth. Using his spoon was not an option when eating pudding. Yuck, but so adorable!
Phew, that is about all I have for today! Until next time........
